Hike and Potluck at LCCA

  • Lassen Land & Trails Trust 701-800 Richmond Ridge Dr Susanville, CA, 96130 United States (map)

Lassen Creek Conservation Area was initially protected as a migration corridor for mule deer traveling from the Diamond Mountain range to the valley. LLTT acquired the 384-acre property piece by piece from 2007 - 2012. We have come to realize that Lassen Creek Conservation Area has a colorful and interesting historical story to share as well! This story has surfaced thanks to the hard work of Tom Rickman, who has been researching the property’s history for the Trust. Join Tom and staff at 4:30 for a walking tour of the property with an eye to indigenous uses of the area, homesteading, and the mystery of the mines. We purchased the land to protect a migration corridor and ended up with a “gold mine” of history too!

Meet at the LCCA Learning Center at 4:30pm for a hike up to the top of the hill with a 360° view of the property and discoveries.

Stay for a potluck afterwards at the LCCA Learning Center. Please bring a dish to share if you are able. The potluck starts at 6:00.
